Fino Baby Giveaway

My first AI2, folks! I love it! Kim has her own online handmade cloth diaper shop called Fino Baby. About Kim:
"My name is Kim.
I have fallen in love with cloth products, including diapers, wipes, unpaper towels, and anything else I can think of replacing with cloth. Fino Baby is a venue for me to share that love of cloth with you!
Fino Baby will branch into other products as time goes by, however, we plan to start with some simple products that everyone can love.
Thanks for your support!"
She sent me my own custom AI2. After I received it I emailed to double check about no outer diaper cover. She said it didn't need one. I won't lie, I was skeptical. Then again all I've really used were fitteds and covers. I tested it out on a day where Colton and I just stayed home. I figured if the diaper were to leak it wouldn't matter. People believe me when I say I am in love! The diaper didn't even get damp and I left it on a good, long while.Side Note: I had pictures of Colton wearing it but I was a weirdo and didn't have my card in the camera. I will post them when I take more.I love fitteds. Some people make super cute ones and it's just sad you have to cover it with a diaper cover. I let Colton hang around the house in a shirt, BabyLegs, and his cloth diaper so I love showing off cuteness. With Fino Baby it's totally okay because Kim has so many prints and you don't need a cover AT ALL! Can't stress that enough. My AI2 also came with a long snap-in bamboo soaker. At first I didn't like that it was long because I thought it would be bulky. No way! Colton can pee. I wouldn't say he's a heavy wetter but the kids can fill a diaper. The soaker worked wonders. The bulkiness wasn't even that bad. It was definitely trimmer than a fitted and cover would've been. &let me just say..bamboo is my favorite. It is so soft. I love knowing that Colton's little bum is comfy.I'm also not normally a fan of one size diaper. Colton's shape is long and I like the diapers to fit just like they're supposed to. Plus, most OS are way too bulky. However, this diaper stretched with Colton's long rise and snapped in perfect around his itty bitty waist. &like I said before there is no bulk.Kim has some really cute fabric options. SO many choices! You can go through and chose one for a custom piece with a number of things she makes. I think I'll be purchasing for my sister some of her Unpaper Towels(set of 4-$5). She's a clean freak and these will help her out. Fino Baby also has Cloth Wipes($1 each) done in Flannel/Bamboo Fleece, Flannel/Terry, Fleece/Velour, and Knit/Velour. Can be used for anything!

Small Wonders Wipes Giveaway

To continue with our Cloth Diaper Journey we now have cloth wipes! I've tried out a lot of wipes but Gretchen, owner of Small Wonders Wipes, sent me a variety pack and I'm positive hers are the best! Here's a little about her:
"Hi, My name is Gretchen. I am a SAHM/WAHM to two little girls ages 5 1/2 years and 3 years old.
I have been making and selling cloth wipes for almost 6 years now. I started making them to use for my oldest daughter and then I didn't stop! I found that I really enjoy making a quality product that will bring joy to my customers."I had the opportunity to review each wipe she makes.
We use them each for different things. The sherpa is great for lunch/dinner time with Colton. He is very messy due to he loves to look around while eating and get food all over his face. The sherpa is strong and I don't have to scrub hard to clean him.

The flannel/velour and flannel/flannel are my favorite for diaper wipes. They are soft and hold the wipe solution perfect. Of course with these you don't get the nastiness that comes with disposables. Also, it may be just me but when I did use disposable wipes my fingers would sometimes slip in the poo. Gross, right? Well you don't have to worry about finger slippage with cloth.
I love velour for simple wipedowns for Colton. The are incredibly soft and yet it just doesn't slide over the grime. It picks it up. Velour is also great for bath time. It's a time for lavender and calming down in our house. What better way than to wash the babe down with something so soft?

&with every great WAHM comes other great products!

Been a long time, no?

I figured it was time for my updates with the fam. We'll start with Colton. He crawls! Not exactly on all fours but his upper strength is amazing. &he gets where he wants to go. He says Momma (of course), Nana, and now Dada. He has started taking steps and has been pulling himself up on everything and everyone. My favorite thing is when he shakes his head no. I know this is the only time I'll be loving that so soaking it up. His favorite toys are his Elmo (blah) remote control and empty cartons. We received a food mill from Annabel Karmel to review and Colton love my homemade green beans grinded up. He's also started eating little Puffies. Side note: In 3 more days he'll be 9 months.
We've been working hard at home. Improvements and such. New heating and air unit and new dishwasher. The a/c had been leaking and since we moved in over a year ago the dishwasher hadn't worked. It's all finally fixed and the kitchen is no longer a place I dread walking in.
Patrick is in process of switching Units. He's filled out all the forms and come next Battle Assembly he'll be ready to meet his new guys. The Unit he was at only had him doing paperwork but this new Unit will have him as the Platoon Leader so he's excited.
As for life in general with all of us..it's been busy. Visiting family and friends. Friends coming back from War. Spending our own alone family time. There's something new everyday. I promise I will write more through out the week. Y'all keep me grounded :)

Mother-ease Cloth Diaper Giveaway

We went to visit our first cloth diaper store, Cutie Tooties, in Knoxville. This was before we knew anything about cloth diapering. Sunny, the store owner, is very sweet and had suggested us to try Mother-ease Cloth Diapers at some point. I didn't get any that day but had later talked to Mother-ease and they wanted to participate in our Journey.
I was sent a One Size Cloth Diaper along with an Air Flow Cover.
The One Size Fitted is really great. In my opinion you don't need the fitted to be ridiculously cute...it's gonna get covered. I have the basic white terry fitted and love it. I love when Colton has a fluffy butt. However, when I need to dress him and it's too fluffy where the clothes won't fit there's a problem. The Mother-ease diapers are nice and trim. There's also a snap in liner that works wonders. I'm absolutely dying to get the Bamboo Terry. I LOVE Bamboo.
The Air Flow Cover on the other hand is darling. We chose the Rainforest print. When I'm using other fitteds my top choice of cover is the Mother-ease. I received the size medium and it's the perfect size for Colton. He's over 20lbs now. It's tight enough to wear the fitted doesn't leak and big to where it covers even my largest fitteds. My next purchase will be the Wetlands Cover. My only con with the cover is that it leaves red marks on Colton's legs. So sometimes I leave the bottom of the side snaps unbuttoned. Seems to help.
